Hi Spyder,

Hi Folks,
Anyone use Iron Front Lite with ALiVE ? I've setup ALiVE a number of times - so I've kind of got the basics down... I was trying to setup Iron Front Lite for the first time last night and I've run into a problem I've never seen before... No matter what I did - the only troops populated on the map - were the foreign speaking vanilla Arma troops that are included with the base game... Hah - absolutely no interest in the futuristic interpretations of vanilla - so I don't even know which faction they are... Anyway - I kept it very simple to start - just six modules (required, virtual AI, 2x military commander, 2x military placement) and I used the faction names listed for Iron Front on the Alive Wiki... No joy - I quadruple checked everything - all the default factions are disabled in the military commander and military placement modules - I used the correctly used faction names from the Wiki for the US Army and the German Army... Nothing - just the vanilla troops showing up on both sides of the fence - not a German or American unit to be seen... Does ALiVE default to the vanilla troops when there is a problem with the faction name ? Any suggestions ?

Hi Folks,
One follow up - does the artillery module allow you to put any artillery piece in that field and will it take into account the specs of the selected piece - or - is it just some generic value ? So a small squad mortar won't have the same range and effect as a howitzer ? Would anyone know of the appropriate values for RHS artillery ? I tried putting in the unit name listed in Eden and the piece did not visually show up - however - I could still call in fire support missions... It was the large Marine tracked artillery piece...

Been away for a year or so... I tried this before but I couldn't really get it to work... Maybe there is something new in ALiVE ? Would an over the horizon opposed amphibious landing be possible with Alive... I don't need the ships or their launch point modeled - I'd just like to emualte the start of the battle with real amphibious assets - both sea and air - attacking a shoreline already controlled by the OPFOR... So there would need to be someway for all he friendly assets to be spawned elesware - then use transportation to arrive at the intended landing zone... Would a map with a secondary small island work - spawn your assets there - then somehow tell every one to start with the intended landing zone ? Once the landing zone is conquered - more assets would be funneled through that to continue taking over the remainder of the island...
Anyway - thanks for your thoughts - always been interested in amphibious landings...
