AlivePlugin.dll Server Crash Upon Loading Mission [SOLVED]

  1. 7 years ago

    Hi,

I've created my own ALiVE mission and set up persistence, following all of the available tutorials and information posted. When I load my mission, the server crashes. My mission runs perfectly fine when I do not run the @AliveServer mod. When I add it, the crashing happens. I have downloaded the latest version of @ALiVE and @AliveServer as of today, August 8th, 2016 and installed them to rule out the possibility of version miss-matching.

It is essentially the same error described in this post.

Here is a video I took of the error to show all of the specific information, should it be necessary.

I have verified that I have .NET Framework 4.0 and Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 installed. I saw prior posts about this and saw there were requests for the aliveServer log file. I am not able to find an aliveServer log file. I believe it is not being created. Below is a link to my RPT file.

    https://s3.amazonaws.com/crierd/ShareX/2016/08/arma3server_2016-08-09_01-28-14.rpt

All of my prior RPT files look very similar, (of the instances that have crashed) as far as I can tell (I'm not very experienced at looking through RPT files). They all end right at the beginning of the ALIVE text-art like the one above. I tried running one of the default missions, Operation Landlord. When I had the @AliveServer running, it also crashed, so I don't think it's my mission.

I also tried putting the ALiVEPlugIn.dll inside my root ArmA 3 directory. That doesn't stop the crashing. I ensured that my .dll file was not being blocked after extraction by both clicking on unlock and copying the @AliveServer folder from my machine onto the server through Remote Desktop Connection.

Suffice it to say, after reading all of the threads related to this error, I have exhausted my ability to trouble shoot it. Any help is greatly appreciated.

  2. Okay, it seems I've fixed it!

I took the advice of @bradon in another post and put the @AliveServer folder into my ArmA 3 root directory and then directed my server cfg to look there when loading the mods. As seen in the picture below. It loads without crashing!

Here's the picture I mentioned above. For anyone who requires a visual representation.

    Thanks @bradon

  3. Nice.. why use the default IIS folders - do you update mods via a web interface?
