ALiVE mainly works with group configs. If you cannot get a mod maker to include proper groups in their configs you may have to make a group config yourself. Take a look here at the config we made for the OPFOR Guerillas:
http://alivemod.com/wiki/index.php/Unit_Mod_Config_Standardisation
Probably an issue with the player logistics in 0.7, there is a fix coming in 0.8 - soon :)
ALiVE is mainly used by private groups, not sure if there are any populated public servers running ALiVE
There is currently a bug with the placement modules when running a persistent mission that fails to connect to the database, I suggest removing DB module until 0.8 is released
Newt sounds like some weird issues there, can you PM me your skype details, I will probably need to have a look at your mission.
I would ask you to wait until the 0.8 release, in that we have made some extensive debug modes for the database module, once thats comes out please enable debug on the database module and if you are still having issues with persistence please post your servers RPT file on pastebin and reply back on here.
The 0.8 release of ALiVE will have an upgraded multispawn module, so I will wait to answer any questions until that comes out. We will prepare a new tutorial for that module on release as well!
How do we add respawning at the HEMTT Medical trucks, and how can we make it so we heal at them as well?
The new multispawn module with have a respawn on vehicle function so should cover that.
One more while I may have your attention, the reinforcements that you can call in with the player resupply module (and give control to the OPCOM), will the OPCOM redeploy them if they are killed (lets assume we have infinite reinforcements) ? This would make starting a mission with nothing and adding to the campaign something very neat (instead of spawning all the units at the start!)
Yes this should be possible, we are still thinking of cool ways that the forcepool can be used in mission to make a variety of scenario's. I have thought about your idea myself, and with the new C2ISTAR task module you can set your starting forcepool to 0, and with the completion of tasks raise that forcepool.
On a side note, I wanted to say a HUGE THANK YOU to all of you guys working on this insanely awesome mod, it turns the game into something else entirely and being a first time mission maker, ARJAY, your tutorials have been invaluable.
We are glad that people enjoy ALiVE, and feedback is what keeps us going, thanks mate!
Have a look at the demo missions in @ALiVE/mpmissions, depbo Air Assault and have a look
Hi lucidity,
Yep we are still working on a solution to the linux version of our data plugins. Unfortunately most of the team are not experienced Linux devs so support for Linux server is taking longer than expected.
Hi SlammanDan, we are currently working on improvements to the combat support vehicles which will allow you to run scripts / triggers on them. It should be in the 0.80 release of ALiVE - coming soon!
