When they get killed in battle or at objectives I want them to reinforce/spawn at a custom obj of my choosing only. I don't want Taliban trucks, helis or para drops. Just spawn at custom obj and move to other objectives.
So I have a mission with Taliban as the invading force.
I have set a 999 priority custom obj as their spawn way out in the mountains of clafghan. I want to set it up so Taliban SPAWN in this areas (it's way out of the road. No players will ever see it) and push on foot to my other custom objectives.
How should I set this up?
I had it on static but the enemy just started appearing/spawning around my custom objectives after we had cleared them. I need them to reinforce from their spawn and move to recapture lost objs.
I also don't know if it's better to have a limited forcepool or set it to dynamic. I want them to eventually run out if we hold all objectives.
Yeah I usually just use the ied module unsynced as it spawns a lot more ieds on mission start. The asymmetric ieds take ages to get to a level where you are actively worried about them.
I like my insurgency missions to have players more worried about ieds than enemy contact with the eod tech out front securing a path for rest of squad.
@Friznit, Can we use 2 ied modules? 1 synced to asymmetric commander for strategic ieds and one unsynced for random roadside etc scattered throughout map?
And a suggestion for the ied module. Would be cool if we could put down specific ied taors that spawn ieds regardless if it's a town or not. In places like clafghan with very little towns and lots of road the ieds only spawn near towns. I would like them to spawn randomly everywhere :)
How exactly did you set this up? I would like to try it.
Can we only get hostile/weapon civs in asymmetric mode?
I've only ever saw one ever and he had a trg in asymmetric mode.
Yeah I use asr but they tend to just use the standard building positions. I was looking for something a little more customised. If you have ever seen clafghan? The map maker has put pallets on the roofs of most bunkers etc and added sandbags for protection. I just want some guys posted on the makeshift roof or wooden towers at camp Bianca.
Is there a code I can put in the soldiers init to place at a height and stand covering a sector without moving? Crouched as well would be awesome.
Thanks
Oh lol. I thought it was so the commander could control all in an emergency but say you had a JTAC etc he could use the lazer designator as usual for air strikes and air support.
It all works ok though. It just means you have to check who can get the commander tablet in game. No biggie. I like it :)
You should prob add RHS as a dependency as leights opfor needs it :)
I'll definitely give it a try.
The new commander tablet allows access to all support modules regardless of what required item you have set :)
Could your players just play a civs?
Blufor and opfor will fight but won't engage civs unless you kill them (you can set the score needed to be deemed hostile in a script I think).
You could have another script that pardons you (resets your hostility score and makes you civ again) automatically (like ace3 pardon system) once you escape an area or change clothes etc.
Just a guess, Don't really have a clue :)
That's how most arma life etc do it.
There are loads of random mission generators available that can be added to the likes of wasteland and exile etc so I'm sure they can be added to a standard ALiVE mission.
I mean a place of my choosing like in clafghan the FOBs have custom guard towers and the roof of the bunkers etc. They just seem to use the standard building positions but can't see out of the FOB.
Basically I just want robots who do nothing but stand as lookouts to keep our Fobs clear when players move out. Would I be better just placing ai myself or is there a way I can tell the ai commander I want a guy here at all times?
