  2. Hey dude. Just wanted to let you know why and how to fix this bug.

Clearly, a lot of this development in these mods and in arma happen on windows. Which causes really sloppy code conventions and bad habits. 12 year old kids learning to mod with Windows is a recipe for disaster.

I ran into the same issue as you. So I looked at the file it was having trouble opening and realized it was because the file name was mil_C2ISTAR instead of mil_c2istar... which matters in linux.

This and a few other files have caps in the name which cause them to mismatch. If you rename them with lowercase letters you'll be good to go.

I'm sorry you had to deal with a bunch of windows coders. Maybe someday, the world will get better.

  3. @flexgrip. Well considering you are using something that was never developed or made compatible with Linux, you really shouldn't be hating on the devs. If you want to insult the mod, go make a better one.

  4. @flexgrip, instead of hating, maybe you should make "suggestions" and a "bug report" about this issue. Not just going on a rant or go do what @SpyderBlack723 said to do, "go make a better one".

I'm sorry you had to use our mod that was developed by a bunch of Windows coders. Maybe someday Linux will be able to handle capital letters and the world will get better.

On a serious note, Linux is not supported by ALiVE at the moment. It's on the roadmap but until then, please keep the criticism constructive and we'll do our best to help.

  6. I realize it is not support and I had already done the lowercase renaming item. Thanks for the suggestion but I will side with the devs ALiVE is great I just wanted to make it work with infrastructure I already had and it did not so I went to windows and now no Issues.
    Cheers

    PS
I got it working with Wine ;)

thanks for the reply! Yeah Wine is the suggested method for Linux i believe (not running Linux myself though)!
