War Room Persistence Setup

    I shall make this one quick. I don't know what I am doing wrong. I put the following into the War Room Server setup:

    Server name: 38th Infantry Patrol Ops

    Hostname: dallas-quad34-i

    ^ With the hostname, I have tried many different ones. Currently I am trying to see if its the actual name of the server machine.

    IP Address: 74.201.57.116

    -----

    The server is not popping up on the feed and there is no sign that persistence works, even when I try to do little tests or even do a server save and exit. (It will just freeze on the saving part).

    Do you follow the instructions to validate your setup?

    inf38th.game.nfoservers.com is not gonna work as an IP. It has to be the externally facing IP of your server.

    What do the logs say is your IP address?

    I don't have any logs (Like aliveserver.log and such). Am I suppose to find these files on the actual server's FTP?

    They should be located in the root directory of your Arma 3 server installation... for sure the RPT file.

    The alive.log file should also be in your servers Arma 3 root directory (it may be in the users/username/appdata/local/ALiVE folder if you set that up).

    I assume you are using a VPS or hosted solution with a control panel (TCAdmin or similar)? It's possible those log files are being saved outside of the root A3 dir and you have no access to them...although that would surprise me.

    There should be a way to see your public facing IP address through the control panel or by asking your provider.

    I also found the Aliveserver.log (had to go into the FTP by different means)

    Thanks... is there any way you can post your entire RPT (start a fresh Arma 3 instance so it creates a new log file)? Please post it to pastebin.com and link it back here.

    Do you have a War Room account setup and you've entered your dedi's IP address? If so login to the War Room ( alivemod.com/war-room ) and click Profile at the top then Group Details button. You should see your server listed there if it's setup properly. If not review the server setup instructions also found there to make sure you didn't miss anything.

    edit: saw your latest post with aliveserver.log.. gimme a few to check it out

    Fresh Arma 3 Instance, as in restart the server itself or my own Arma 3?

    Sorry I meant restart the server.. it will create a 'fresh' log file. And by RPT I mean your server's RPT.

    This post delay is annoying.

    It looks like you are getting authorized in war room (still want to see your server RPT file tho).

    This might be beyond me to fix I'll need to get Tupolov (dev) involved.

    For a quick possible solution can you open your mission file in the editor and delete the ALiVE data module, save, add new ALiVE data module (configure params in module if needed), save, upload mission to dedicated server and try again?

    If that fails next step is to delete aliveserver mod from your dedicated server and re-download it. Link for that can be found in War Room under >Profile >Group Details >Server setup instructions.

    You can do both steps at once if you prefer but we suspect it's an issue with the data module.

    I don't have a aliveserver.log

    I only have the alive.log and it simply states:

    As for the server OS, I thought that was the issue too but I checked two days ago and they said it was Windows Server 2008 R2. I even contacted their support to verify that.
