Dedicated Server Missions not loading

  1. 7 years ago

    Hello.

I run a dedicated server off of my personal machine because I run a lot of missions for my group of friends. Recently, I made several missions that were running just fine. Everything was working as it was supposed. I went back to school for a few weeks, and when I came back, none of them will work. Whenever I load the mission, it takes me to the slot selection screen, and there are no slots to select.

Here is what I have tried:

    • Deleting content from each of the mods I run 1 at a time until the mission will work.
    • This lead to me testing the content mods (RHS and Leights OpFor) individually. They both work.
    • CUP appears to work just fine
    • I have reinstalled all mods
    • I have ensured that my server and my A3 game file have the same mods and same mod versions

I'm not entirely sure what else I should do to remedy this issue.

    Mods:

    • RHS: Escalation
    • Leights OpFor
    • ACE3
    • ALiVE/ALiVE Server
    • TFAR
    • DEditor
    • RH M4 packs
    • HLC Weapons
    • CUP Terrains complete

I am also running a script to add in a headless client, a rearm/repair script, and a unit recruitment script. I have also tried taking these out and it had no effect.

I am honestly not sure what else to do. I have also tried going back through and adding things in one at a time, and everything works fine when I try that. However, when I try to add in all of the ALiVE markers and mil/civ objectives, seems to be when the game is throwing a fit. However I am not 100% positive.

I'm not sure where my .rpt files for my server are stored either, so I can't post those. I know where my A3 game ones are, but not the server.

Sorry for the long post, and thanks for any help in advance!

    @Anaximandross Hello.

I know you said you checked that the server is loading all the required mods but 99.9% of the time no playable slots is due to a required mod not being loaded on the server. Re-run your test, make sure you are not using the -noLogs server parameter, and post your server's RPT file to pastebin and link back here. Server RPT can be found in the root of the A3 Server install folder.

edit: some game services will have \Log folders (or similar) setup in the A3 install folder where it stores the RPT files

Hmmm I don't have the -nologs on, but there aren't any logs in the root folder either. When you say re-run the test, do you mean slowly add everything back in?

EDIT: ALso, would any of the A3 updates have changed anything that would throw off mods or the scripting functions?

Also, I have very tediously gone through each of the mod files, both by hand writing them all down, and then also by adding stuff in until it doesn't work. However, I am going to go and see if I can create another mission and track down this pesky issue.

EDIT again: Would backing up myA3 server file and then copying my entire A3 game mods into my A3 server be a bad idea? I'm wondering if any content mods would cause this issue, such as having/not having the HLC or RH weapons packs activated

  4. I also just found that the vehicles on my server are just sliding along the ground when they spawn in until they explode, all objects such as sandbags are spawning several feet in the air, and the AI are going NUTS. What have I done...?

  5. It works! I have absolutely no idea why, but it does!

  6. What works?

Most likely because you imported old 2D Editor missions into 3DEN is what broke things...

  8. My server/missions. They just suddenly started working again with no issues. I think I got Arma'd, just for like 15 hours of my life.

  9. Congrats.. you've been Arma'd
