The Civilian modules create an ambient civilian population throughout the map. Civilians have their own pattern of life, going to work in the morning and returning home at night. They also have a relationship with military forces in the area which will change overtime depending on the number of civilians caught in the crossfire. Civilians can be a source of intelligence but they can also help fuel insurgencies.

To create ambient civilians you need to place two types of modules.

  • Civilian Population module must be placed on the map to control civilian profiles (do not sync to anything). It works in a similar way to the Virtual AI System and includes options for spawn radius and hostility to each faction. Civilian Roles are for use with Asymmetric AI Commanders and will assign appropriate specialist roles to certain civilians such as priests and politicians (Western) or muezzins and town elders (Eastern).
