I created this to help mission makers by adding new factions without adding more mods.

SInce CUP, which is awesome, has zero African factions, etc. I decided to create my own.

I am now up to 6 fully playable African factions in this pack.

    • An African Rebel faction based off of Somali Pirates set to Opfor Faction name: CUP_AFR_Reb
    • An Islamic African Insurgent faction based off of Boko Haram and Al Shabab set to Opfor Faction name: CUP_AFR_M_Reb
    • A full standardized African Army that speaks Farsi set to Independent. This force has Infantry, Special Forces, Tanks, APCs, Helicopters, and Fighter Jets. Faction name: CUP_AFR_Army
    • An African based UN Peacekeeping Force set to Blufor that speaks French. Fully equipped with UN vehicles and aircraft. Faction name: CUP_AFR_UN
    • An African Civilian faction. Faction name: CUP_AFR_CIV
    • An African Muslim Civilian faction. Faction name: CUP_AFR_M_CIV

  2. Oh nice! ORBATTER Makes things very easy for this now. YAY For more variety!

  3. Agreed! @AUTigerGrad how did you combine a civ faction with a regular faction? The fact that you did that is awesome! That is if I'm understanding your description.

  4. @HeroesandvillainsOS  I created two factions then put both packed pbos in a single folder.

I plan on creating a full African Military faction as well then create some UN and Private contractors with an African theme.

The goal is to be able to run full world scenarios with only CUP so I'm focusing on adding factions not already in CUP...African, Asian, South American, etc.

Honestly that's a good idea. I had a revelation the other day that I could change all of my missions to CUP only and not only bring dependencies down, but still retain the integrity of the missions themselves too. The mod has gotten very good over the years.

I don't play with CUP much, but looking through their files is very impressive.

I'm still bummed that the Takistani civs aren't in. I think that's what's keeping me away. Tupolov, you know a guy, right? :)

Are every one of their million factions ALiVE compatible? The wiki only lists a few.

  6. Use ORBAT Creator to check compatible factions ;)

Oh yeah! My bad. Forgot about that. :)

  8. All of the CUP factions are compatible.

I have a Takistan Civ faction created as well for CUP units, as well as a "revamped" CUP Takistani faction that uses more of the assets from Eric J's Taliban Units.

I've also got a Syrian/Iraqi Civ faction....i.e. Middle Eastern but in more modern attire, instead of the Afghan style clothing.

  9. I'm planning on mass subscribing on Workshop to all your stuff. Can you post the Takistani civs there whenever you get a chance?

  10. This is awesome man, thank you for doing this. I was going to do similar but I think the ORBAT creator hates me. (Or I was just dropped too many times as a child)

  12. Takistani Civilians for CUP

The name says it all....A Civilian faction for Takistan using CUP, which is currently missing from CUP. Includes vehicles.

  15. So just a heads up...

I'm kind of obsessed with Africa and African conflicts so I plan on fleshing out this African CUP faction pack pretty extensively.

I'm going to add a UN peacekeeping force, an Islamic based militant group i.e. Boko Haram/Al Shabab, a second African Civ faction that will be more Muslim style African Civs, and another Independent African Army that can be used as a National force, Enemy army, etc. I will only use CUP and Vanilla assets to make these so the dependencies will still only be CUP.

That would pretty much cover every type of African scenario I can think of.

    I'm moist.

  17. I've added a 3rd faction to the African pack.

A fully fleshed out African Army set to Independent side. This Army includes infantry, special forces, support weapons, vehicles, and air assets.

  19. Faction #4 added to my African pack

This is my take on Boko Haram. A Radical Islamic African faction.
